Getting there (Durham Dash at Beamish)

Arrival & Access

Beamish Museum is located off the A693, Chester Le Street to Stanley road; signposts are located along the highway.

Stanley Bus Station to Beamish Museum 2.5miles / 7 minutes

Chester Le Street Railway Station to Beamish Museum 5.1miles / 12 minutes

Durham Bus Station to Beamish Museum 9miles / 20 minutes

Free Parking is available to all vehicles onsite at the Museum.

Beamish Museum will close to the public at 5pm, prior to this time The Dash! Family are required to respect the space and time for those daily visitors who are enjoying the fun of the Living Museum.

Access to the Museum for the Dash ‘Schools, Athletes, Family & Friends’ will be available from 4:00/10pm??.

From the Museum’s Car Park, all Dash ‘Schools, Athletes, Family & Friends’ are asked to walk to the Entrance Building to gain access to the Museum site. Staff and Stewards will be located to help with your arrival and on going direction.

On arrival at the Museum’s Entrance Building athletes should meet their nominated teacher/responsible adult(s) who will then walk to the registration point which will be clearly sign posted. Individual children do not register at reception.

Walking Directions: on leaving the Entrance Building all schools and athletes to turn left and walk to the School Zone/Field Event area.

Walking Distance: Museum Entrance to Finish Line on Front Street 1km (1000m)

All Schools and Athletes need to arrive at the Field Event / School Zone by 4.45pm. We cannot wait if anybody is late!!!
