MAB Event Management

Sports Administration and Operational Stadia Management has been part of Mark’s working life for some 30 years and through this time a “respected” knowledge base and unique connectivity to sporting NGB’s, TV Stations, Global brands and Europe’s iconic sporting arenas has been established.

As Executive Director at Sunderland AFC, Mark was an active member of the design team for the 48,000 seater Stadium of Light & the £10m Academy of Light training facility. His proudest moment whilst working for the Premier League was the conversation between Mark and Niall Quinn that enabled Niall and his family to realise their dream of delivering Niall’s Benefit game (v’s Republic of Ireland in May 2002) that raised over a ‘million pound’ to the Children wards of Crumlin (Dublin) and Sunderland Hospitals.

Having been involved in The FA’s 2006 bid for the FIFA World Cup, Mark was invited by the City of Hull to lead their multi agency bid to be an applicant Host City for the FIFA World Cup 2018; as Lead Consultant the bid was delivered successfully on time and within budget.

Mark now shares his football event knowledge and experiences as lead UEFA representative for matches in the iconic Champions League, working with teams such as Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich, within Europe’s magnificent stadia such as Barcelona’s Nou Camp, Juventus’ Allianz Stadium and Ajax’s Amsterdam Arena. Mark is also doing similar work for FIFA at its European based World Cup Qualifying games, acting as Match Commissioner.

Recently, Mark has been supporting the Kosovo Football Federation with the re-construction of the National Stadium in Pristina and since 2016 Mark has been assisting the delivery of the Arabian Gulf League/PLC’s Match Officials pre-season workshop in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Thanks to the Dash, Mark is now able to deliver on his belief in the “Power of Sport” to connect communities and to change young people’s lives; “It is so important to avoid a physically and socially disengaged future generation, young people over dependent on technology will result in low physical, social and emotional wellbeing. In years to come the impact made by activators such as School Sport Partnerships through private and public sector collaborative intervention will be shaping communities and local heroes thanks to their passion, beliefs in the “Power of Sport” and enthusiasm towards sport and physical activity”.
